Grand Luxury Room
Step back in time at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi. One of my all time favourite hotels in the world. Whether for business or travel, this is a magnificent place to stay (if you can afford it). I usually stay in the Grand Luxury Room which is adorned by Vietnamese silk, ceramic lamps and rice-paper wall lanterns and has a lovely Victorian daybed to chill out on. The bathrooms are large with separate bath and shower. The hotel itself is just full of drama. Every room or public space you enter has something to woo you. The General Manager describes it as 'French art de vivre blended with elegant Vietnamese touches'.
For me nothing beats ending the day kicking back and sipping a Pimm's No.1 at the Bamboo Bar overlooking the pool after a day in the heat of Hanoi. The food is excellent, the staff are friendly and efficient and the location is great. In fact, I would be happy to spend my entire stay just in the hotel!
